C is for Crib!

We made a big step  in the baby preparations this past week.  I finally committed to buying a crib.  I have hard a hard time really deciding what I wanted as it is a big purchase and I did not want to regret my decision!  I also had something very particular in mind that I wanted.  Let me start by saying I do not want a lot of clutter.  I hate excess clutter in rooms.  In fact that is one of the things that makes me most nervous about baby is all the stuff that goes with baby!  Where do you keep all the crap?  I did not crib on one wall, rocker on another, changer on another... too much clutter!

Anyhoo, this is the crib I FINALLY decided on.  I love that it is a crib and changer combo and it is compact.  I also love all the storage... the drawers under the crib, on the changer part, etc!  Many cribs these days are made to go against a wall which I did not want.  So, it was important for me to find a symmetrical crib (same on each side if you split down middle).   I plan on having it come out of wall like bed rather than flat against a wall.   I also wanted something in white.  The crib I chose is made by AFG and is called the Daphne Athena crib and I bought it at Target!

After I ordered it I discovered that CSN stores sells this crib along with other crib and changer combo cribs!  Here are some additional crib and changer combo options!

P.P.B.... Petunia Pickle Bottom

Yes, (you may not believe it based on photos to the left) but this is a baby post... so feel free to skip if this is not in your line of interests!   Just recently I treated myself to a Petunia Pickle Bottom clutch on Rue La La!  It was so cheap, I could not say no and I also had a $10 credit (thanks to one of you who used my link to join Rue La La).  


Petunia Pickle Bottom sells cute and vintage inspired baby bags of all sizes.  There is a plethora of patterns to choose from.  They are not cheap- but boy are they cute.   I picked up the clutch because I thought I could leave it attached to my stroller and I would have diaper essentials there when I just want to go for a unplanned walk.  (This will not be my only diaper bag.  My mom did buy me a cute (non PPB) full sized one I will unveil at a later date!)  I am into baby things that do not look like baby things and that can have a life after baby is walking!  I thought this cutch would match perfectly with the cute sleek all black stroller I have registered for!  


This clutch which sells for about $90 was on Rue La La for $45 but with my $10 credit .... I got it for $35.  I mean, how could I not!?  Husband, mom and sister... if you are reading.... stop judging me on my baby purchases! :)  It is sleek and small but opens up to unveil a fold out/snap out changing pad, diaper wipes case and space for a few diapers and some diaper cream...  All you need!  The glazed exterior is easy to wipe down and keep clean!

I bring good news.  Petunia Pickle Bottom also has a line at Target!  No clutches just yet, but you can get a cute baby bag like this  below for $50.

 I mean...with that clutch I plan to be free of baby spit-up, THAT stylish, THAT thin, and THAT relaxed!  LOL!

N is for Nursery!

So, let me first say that I plan to keep this blog true to its roots...focusing on home decor and style.  But, you will find some baby stuff sprinkled in as relevant to the theme at hand.  Today is one of those days.

Well, actually today is THE day!  I will hopefully be finding out later today whether I am having a boy or girl.  I can hardly freaking wait.  I am so impressed by those people that wait their whole preganancy!  I certainly cannot do that!  I am dying to know and am ready to start planning.  The moment I find out pink or blue...the nursery decorating (and shopping in general) will commence.... I mean REALLY commence!  Get out that credit card honey!

I have some ideas in mind already about what I want in the nursery.... no matter what the gender is.  So, you can expect may DIY craft projects in the near future!
