B...b....b...Brown!

So, my colleague was asking me my thoughts on brown walls.  She bit the bullet and went with it but it is in progress  and she is nervous!  If you have a room with good lighting- brown is amazing!  I especially love the contrast of dark brown and white.  It is neutral... yet crisp and fresh!

Check out this Pinterest inspiration!

Brown is beautiful.... don't you think?  Until next time....xoxo

L.L.... Locker Love!

Did you see my post last week about Brimfield.  There were these AMAZING lockers there.... the perfect shade of blue!   What would I do with said lockers?  What wouldn't I do!

I came across this photo ages ago and it has stuck with me.  I love how the wall was cut so the lockers fit flush into the wall!!!

But.... I love these too.  Lockers work in an entry, family room, nursery, kitchen.... you name it!

A.W.L.... Art We Love!

Artist:  Seth Indigo Carnes
When my husband and I first moved in together... our first "disagreement" was focused around art.  He had a bunch of posters from Prints Plus that he wanted to hang on our walls.  My least favorite of which was the lava flowing into the ocean poster.  ICK!  I was quick to tell him that if we were going to hang art of the wall it was going to be actual photos and paintings and not posters of such.

Many people think that they cannot afford proper artwork, but my friends ... you can!  Affordable artwork is just a mouse click away.  I have spoken of Etsy a lot. You do have to kind of have an idea of what you want to search for, but there are so many options.

Art We Love (featured on the Nate Burkus Show last week) is another great resource for original artwork at a variety of price points starting at $15.  Here are some of my favorites!

Artist Midori Harima

Artist Tomoo Gokita

Finally, 20X200 offers a great variety of artwork also! The have photos and other works on paper and introduce two new editions each week.   As the name will tell you- you can purchase prints for as low as $20 bucks and as high as $200 (dependent on size).  There is something for everyone!  Here are a few examples of what you can find at 20X200.

Go on... support artist and get youself something unique and original and now sold at your local mall! :)  Until next time...xoxo

S is for Sunburst ... mirrors!

Okay, I am back!  My first week as a mommy was challenging, tiring, rewarding and full of love!  I am going to try to blog, but will cut back over the next month or so.  So, my goal is three posts a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) until I get my life back in order!  Thanks for your patience!

So, topic of the day...sunburst mirrors.  Sunburst Mirrors are EVERYWHERE!  You can find them in lots of different finishes and in lots of different price ranges.  I currently don't have any sunburst mirrors in my house, but maybe I need to change that.

Here are some inspiration photos!

E is for exposed.... brick!

My good friend "SB" is doing a full kitchen renovation.   I am SUPER jealous.  One of the great things about her "new kitchen" is that they are exposing a brick wall original to the house that is currently hit behind their microwave and an ugly wallpapered wall!  It is going to be gorgeous.  She asked me for some decor advice which I will certainly provide.  In the meantime,  I thought I might share some exposed brick inspiration for the rest of you.

There is just something about exposed brick that is amazing!  Hunh?

G.... Globes!

You know I love a good "collection".   My sister is working on her finished basement/family room and is going with a maps/travel theme which I LOVE!  In my random google searching, I came across an idea that would work in her new space.  Globes... old, new, big, small- all cool!

Here is some globe inspiration!
