O... Objects!

So, I had some questions after my post on Wednesday about the "yellow items" on the wall. I have actually blogged about this very thing a while ago here! What are these very cute and quite mysterious decorative objects.... ceiling medallions. Yes, those things you hang on the ceiling around light fixtures.

If you want this look it is actually really really really easy. Collect yourself some ceiling medallions. You can get them in all shapes and sizes at Home Depot, Lowes, Overstock, Amazon, etc!

Once you have collected the ceiling medallions you want to hang- get out your paint. Spray paint would of course be easiest...I LOVE spray paint. But, you could use any paint you want. Then simply attach a picture hanger of some kind with epoxy or super glue on the back and voila! Affordable, stylish and pretty unique art!

V... is for vintage! Cameras!

So, I was in Michigan for the 4th of July holiday weekend....hence no post yesterday! I thought I would spice it up and blog this week on Tuesday and Thursday. Anyways.... Michigan was awesome. We are very lucky to be invited to spend time on Lake Michigan with my brother-in-laws family. It is truly awesome! While there we hit an outdoor antique market. This is one of my favorite things to do no matter where I am.

We got some good finds! I have always wanted vintage cameras for display and there was a booth with a big collection .... reasonable priced. I got three!

Trying to decide if I should put these in our family room once the husband does the built-ins or in the living room which needs a little TLC right now. Hmmmm! Brimfield is in a few weeks- so I can only imagine that I might further add to the collection.

F... is for frame it... just about anything!

Okay, came across this post yesterday on Full House. Thank you Full House! I think this is such a cool idea. You know I love almost anything as a "collection". I think this would look so great in one of those large luxurious walk-in closets. You know... the type I will never have, but will dream about forever! But, could also work in a bachelorette pad... just about anywhere! So chic and so cool.

U is for Update!

I have had a CRAZY few weeks. I will have to admit that this has prohibited me from being able to really do my best blogging. I will fix this soon though... I hope! But, I will also say that I am long overdue for some updates to you.

As I mentioned before, I have been my sister's interior design consultant and in some cases "buyer". She wanted a gallery of vintage mirrors above her couch. Remember? I shared some inspriation here. My mom and I then proceeded to buy her all her mirrors at Brimfield this year. Rembember? Here they are and some more here.

I then went over her house and helped her pick an arrangement so they would be a perfect collection when hung. Well, today we have our update of the finished product. Check it out! :) Apologies for the BAD quality photo, only had my IPhone which is clearly filthy!

You know I love a good "collection". My sister is working on her finished basement/family room and is going with a maps/travel theme which I LOVE! In my random google searching, I came across an idea that would work in her new space. Globes... old, new, big, small- all cool!

M...Matchbooks!

So, you will remember I have blogged about all sorts of wall decor; keys, trays, baskets, and much more! Almost anything looks amazing when hung as a collection. Well, today... I have another item, matchbooks! We all have matchbooks, although they are becoming harder to find. Collect sentimental ones to remember a time in your life, vacation spots, and so much more!

I could not find many photos, but did find this one; it gives you and idea of how cool it can look.

K is for Keys....

Keys are everywhere these days. As I mentioned, I was at Brimfield last week! I saw a ton of keys there... including this impressive selection of skeleton keys to the left. They were $10 each and they had a huge selection. I don't really have any blank walls for a key display, but I wish I did!

As you know I love "collections" hung on walls including; cake pans, trays, baskets, ceiling medallions, and more! Keys make great wall decor too.

Trays Hung on Walls

So, my daily readers know that I have spent many a posts focused on inexpensive and creative options for wall decor. This ideas have included ceiling medallions, empty frames, embroidery hoops, plates, and mirrors. Today, I have another idea for you, trays! Easy to pick up at most flea markets or antique shops- there are plenty of options with this idea!
