P.P.... Pastel Pink!

As you know, I have pink on the mind.  I have ALWAYS loved pink.  I had a lot more pink in my home before I was married.  If I were not married- I would still have a lot of pink.  For now... most of my pink stuff is in my guest rooms where I was given free reign from the husband!  Pink can be very girly, but it can also serve as a neutral... sort of!

D is for Daybeds... in Living Rooms!

One of my favorite design trends right now is daybeds in living rooms.  Maybe it is the idea of a perfect nap spot in the main living area, or maybe it is just because they are so darn chic!  If I could start over in my living room, a daybed would definitely be part of the design scheme!

S...... Shelves! Make it pretty!

So, I have a design dilemma. My husband built me this huge bookcase in our living room. Did I mention it is big? HUGE! It is both tall and wide. I have yet to figure out how to accessorize it appropriately.

Now, let me say that the husband works in finance not woodworking.... so although beautiful, there are a few issues. The main one being that the shelves are very wide with no support in the middle, so if you put anything too too heavy on them then kind of sink in the middle. So, I need to be purposeful and conscience of this when I accessorize this massive shelving structure.

I am lost on where to begin with the bookshelf. It is now filled with random stuff .... wine, books, photos, etc. I need a strategy. Here are some lovely shelves that I am looking to for inspiration. When I have solved my issue I will share with you. For now, I am in planning phase.

I actually have something like this going in my family room. Simple. Classic.

H! Home Inspiration Photo of the Moment!

Okay....so, dining room update!

Chandelier we ordered is bad... very bad. Also has turned into a nightmare to return. Beware of Lighting Universe.com!!!! The flowers are made of styrofoam glued to metal chandelier. Yikes!

So, annoyed with dining room right now focused back on living room. This photo below is my current inspiration photo for behind our couch. I cannot remember where I found it...it is saved in my photo inspirations folder!

Currently we have a few old stainglass windows above the couch, but I don't love them there. I like how this set up is so warm and welcoming. Looking for a shelf like this to begin the look. There is one possible option at Ballard Designs, but still looking!

I will keep you posted, but I really love this look! I am on a mission! I need shelf, word, candleholders (I can paint to match my colors), and some other embellishments! The search is on.
