B.I.G.... A big clock!

My co-worker "AD" is moving to Boston's North End.  Yes, she is hip, cool... and young!  She was telling me about how the apartment has a giant clock on the exposed brick wall!  Cool, yes.  Got me thinking about GIGANTIC clocks!

Check out these room inspirations utilizing BIG clocks!

D.S.... Design Style! What is yours?

I have helped many a friends and family members with design and home decor questions.   Very few people can really say what their design style is!  Do you like traditional?  Modern?  Eclectic?  If you are really stumped on what your style is there are many online quizzes that will help you!

Check out this quiz from Sproost!  This quiz is a quick series of questions that promises to help define your home design style.   It works by gathering your responses to a series of designed rooms.  By knowing what you like and don't like... they can pinpoint your own style!

I took this quiz and it told me I was French Eclectic!  Which I will say is fairly accurate (although I don't like gold)!  What is french eclectic?  Here is how they define it!

French Eclectic

Parlez-vous français? Even if the answer is no, you can confidently say your home does! French Country, like its name, somehow manages to both be formal and casual, classy and unassuming at the same time. You like your spaces to feel inviting from the moment you (or your guest) opens the front door and this feeling should continue even after you've entered your most formal room. Even though there are French antiques here and gold details there, the rustic elements provide a balance and warmth that seems to say, "come in, relax and stay a while." Your love of antiques leads you to flea markets, garage sales and hours of eBay hunting.

Here are some French Eclectic Photos from the Quiz!

What is your style?  Sproost will give you a good idea!  Until next time....xoxo

F is for Frames! Empty Frame

One of my favorite and inexpensive wall decor looks is empty frames.  That is right.... buy picture frames and hang them with nothing in them.  You can buy new or old, have multiple colors or paint all one color!  The options are endless, but this look is chic and affordable.

Check out these inspiration photos!

V is for Vanity!

I love a pretty vanity.  Not only does it look good- it is so practical!  I know I am not the only person that has a ton of accoutrement (hair dryer, flat iron, makeup, hair products, etc) to get ready in the morning!  My grandmother left me a desk when she passed away and it has made its way to my bedroom and is currently serving as a vanity, although I do need to spice it up a bit.

Want a vanity for yourself?  Check out these super cute options!

You can find adorable antique vanities/dressing tables at antique stores or on Craigs List.  You can also use a vintage desk or have a built in added! :)  Every girl needs a proper space to get beautiful!

Until next time.....xoxo

S.P...... STATE PRIDE PILLOWS!!!

I have LOVED these pillows for a long time.  I saw them ages ago at a boutique somewhere and thought they were so darned lovely.  I recently recommended these pillows to my sister for her downstairs family room.  They have a finished basement that they have avoided decorating for a while but they have finally go to work!  They have some great maps they want to hang on the the wall, so I suggested they do a travel/map theme throughout.  These pillows, although expensive, fit that theme perfectly!

There are very few times where I splurge on something expensive, but these could just be it!  The sister and brother-in-law have lived in DC, Chicago, and Boston.  They have traveled through France (following Tour de France) and went to college an married in Maine!  They have plenty of pillow options!

These pillows are hand embroidered (hence the $150 price tag).  These are the types of pillows you have FOREVER!!!  Great on a couch, bed, chair, breakfast nook.... wherever!  They have all the states, but also have cities, countries, state parks, and more!

I think the sister and brother-in-law need these ones!

Which ones do you want?  You can busy these at Cat Studio (which also makes drinking glasses, dish towels, trays and more).  Also can find them at Uncommon Goods, and Chasing Fireflies.

I want some for myself!  Until next time...xoxo

H is for have and heard?

Have you heard of "At West End"? So I was just sorting through my GIANT pile of magazines.  I love magazines and if I don't keep up with it, I find after a few months that I have piles everywhere!  In the stack I was sorting through, I found an "At West End" catalog.  I had never heard of this place, but they have really really cute stuff!

Their tag line is "A unique place for rustic and recycled home decor."  It is exactly that!  There a bunch of items that I want for my house and garden!

Here are some of my favorites!

See, I told you that had really cute stuff!  Check out At West End for yourself!  Until next time....xoxo

C.P. = Chalkboard Paint!

Okay, I am loving chalk board paint these days.  I  have not yet found the perfect place to utilize chalk paint in my own house, but I am determined to figure out a way!  Great for use in an office, kitchen, playroom or wherever!

Need some inspiration!  Check out these amazing images.
