F... is for frame it... just about anything!

Okay, came across this post yesterday on Full House.  Thank you Full House!  I think this is such a cool idea.   You know I love almost anything as a "collection".   I think this would look so great in one of those large luxurious walk-in closets.  You know... the type I will never have, but will dream about forever!  But, could also work in a bachelorette pad... just about anywhere!  So chic and so cool.

There are so many beautiful bags out there.... artwork on their own!  Until next time...xoxo

B.B.... Black Birds!

Okay, watching Gossip Girl last week we got a sneak peak at Serena's new bedroom (thanks to Blair).  Even thought it was just a quick glimpse, I was mesmerized by the black birds that were on the wall behind the bed.  Birds are everywhere these days, but if they are good enough for Blair and Serena you know they are good enough for us! :)

I was delighted when a little friend of mine "JD" alerted me to the fact that these birds can be purchased at Target.  Um.... what?  Really?  Yes, really.  A set of 21 black birds will run you $19.99.  Amazing deal and if black is not your thing, these babies can be easily spray painted any color of your choice!

Check them out on tonight's Gossip Girl!  You can get a quick glimpse in last week's preview (below).

You will remember I shared similar wall decor months ago....except it was flowers not birds!  You can see it here!

Until next time...xoxo

M...Matchbooks!

So, you will remember I have blogged about all sorts of wall decor; keys, trays, baskets, and much more!     Almost anything looks amazing when hung as a collection.  Well, today... I have another item, matchbooks!  We all have matchbooks, although they are becoming harder to find.  Collect sentimental ones to remember a time in your life, vacation spots, and so much more!

I could not find many photos, but did find this one; it gives you and idea of how cool it can look.

K is for Keys....

Keys are everywhere these days.  As I mentioned, I was at Brimfield last week!  I saw a ton of keys there... including this impressive selection of skeleton keys to the left.  They were $10 each and they had a huge selection.  I don't really have any blank walls for a key display, but I wish I did!

As you know I love "collections" hung on walls including; cake pans, trays,  basketsceiling medallions, and more!  Keys make great wall decor too.

Check out some inspiration photos!

W.F.... Wall Flower!

Okay, my friend "E" is to credit with this blog idea, but her timing could not have been more perfect!  A few weeks ago I was at Dick Blick (Art Store...bad name).   I stumbled across lots of cute things for home decor including these magnetic wall flowers that "E" has and loves! These are hers here to the left/above, hung in her office.  Don't you LOVE the orange color of the wall!

These flowers are made by Umbra and are so damn versatile.  I LOVE the white, but they also come in a variety of colors including black, pink, yellow, chrome and more!  They also have other shapes like birds and dragonflies too!

You could use these cool (and very affordable) wall flowers in a variety of rooms.  They would be super cute in a little girl's room, or bathroom, but also a dining room or family room!  Perfect for that wall that you want to do something with, but could not quite figure out what would work.  This just might be it!

Want some inspiration?  Check out these photos!

You can buy these at Umbra's website, Amazon, and  Bed Bath and Beyond.  They hang very easily!  The are magnetic, so you put a simple metal thumb tack in your wall and then stick the magnet to the thumbtack.  Young House Love has suggestions/directions on how to lay them out and hang!

Thanks "E" for a great blog idea!  I need to get some of these flowers for myself... soon!  Until next time....xoxo

P.W.... Picture Wall...

So, I have been wanting to blog about picture walls for a while, but have not. But now, I have to! You know when you see an amazing idea and you wonder .... "why didn't I think of that". Well, that just happened to me.

I am a fan of photo walls (also known as picture walls, or galleries). I have photos (all in coordinating black frames) going up my stairs. It includes photos old and new and black/white and color. The similiar frames tie the look together.

I also have a small photo wall/gallery in my upstairs hallway. This one is mostly photos that I took in France with a few purchased photos thrown in. They are all photos of doors and windows that utilize the color teal or aqua. I have had some challenges getting this particular photo wall just right! Partially becuase we live in an old house with horse hair plaster, so when you put something up... you need to stick with it or be prepared to patch the hole and crack.

Well, if you are afraid to put up a photo wall of your own. There is a site that you need to check out, it is called Picture Wall Company! I found it when I was killing some time on House Beautiful's website (look at idea #37).

To quote from Picture Wall Company's website, it allows you to "hang 10 picture frames (sold with template) quickly and precisely anywhere in your home. It uses our revolutionary and Patented "Pre-View” Template technology allowing you to determine placement, height and character of frames all without measuring and before the first hook is ever entered into your wall."
Hello, is this an amazing concept or what!? My sister needs this!!! I once told her to cut out construction paper the size of each frame she wanted to hang and test out arrangement before she used nails in wall. She laughed out loud! She is not as OCD as me!

Have I mentioned that I love photo walls? Here is some inspiration photos, do you love them too?

Here are a few photos from my photo walls!

This one upstairs needs some work... but I have not felt like dealing with patching the wall.  But... someday soon they will get a re-design!!!  The current arrangement is a bit ackward.

You can use family photos, postcards, artwork, or whatever! A picture wall can work in any room; a hallway, bedroom, dining room, etc!

Do it! Until next time...xoxo
